The National Debt

Re: The National Debt (as subject and metaphor). Subject. I doing my research for this letter (Due Diligence!) I came across some amazing facts about the National Debt. If it was stacked in $100 bills, it would stretch from here to all the way over there- 14 times! I was so shocked I had to check the math but it was TRUE. That seems like a awful lot indeed. Then it hit me, like a bolt from the blue: if we put all that money out-and then set it on fire, all our problems would be over! Genius! What’s that you say, we already did that? That can’t be true, why would we do that? That’s true, voice in my head, chicks dig a bad boy, that has to be what it is, I mean look at the other bankrupt nations, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain and the beautiful Irish, what do they all have in common? They’re just too sexy for their own good-and now we’re going to be the bad seed, the country your mother doesn’t what you going near…Wow, this is going to be great! Hear this world: we don’t play by your rules, we’re too wild to be tamed but maybe your love could change us-maybe all we need is love, the love of a good, good country like you. Of course we’ll call, baby, besides, what are you going to do, see Germany? If you can stay awake… Metaphor. If you look at the deficit as character deficit, how would that look? Rand Paul. No, wait, Senator Rand Paul. That’s really what character is, wisdom presented as emotion, and that’s America’s problem, we make bad decisions and then compound it with emotional reactions. So he would hold up the debt limit, a decision that materially affects the entire world, over HIS personal beliefs (given that they‘re not Tea Party, INC‘s beliefs)? Take it from the Tomcat(!), I can’t even imagine how much ego that would take, how little personal reflection goes into constructing a posture like that. That would be like putting an entire bottle of hair gel in and then not looking into the mirror before going out. (An affront to society, indeed. Not that I noticed.) It’s like he doesn’t play by the rules, his hair’s too wild to be tamed…HEY, WAIT A MINUTE!!! All the Best, TVA Ps. Couldn’t write last week, they put me in solitary. Hope you noticed… Pss. Nothing builds character like suffering, it’s the yin and yang of personal growth, but it’s not that much of a consolation after all. I’d still hope we could remain shallow, and self-involved, because we’re really not so bad once you get to know us. Just spoiled.
