Iran

Re: Iranian murder plot. The only thing the public can rely on in intelligence matters is that we will never know the truth. Still, there are things we can surmise from 20,000 feet without concrete information on the cause but the predicted effects of further Iranian isolation. It appears the game plan is to go to the UN Security Counsel and try to get Russia and China to buy in to economic sanctions, particularly impacting China, as Iran is its largest oil trader. Should China be so foolish as to sign on, who wins? The oil companies and “authorized” oil exporting states whose product would actually rise in value as more supply is removed from the global market. Despite a world wide recession, their oil will rise in value in a market of decreased demand. And the main conspirator is from Texas, which is famous for what industry? Aramco, BP, and Exxon come out smelling like a rose which is a huge improvement over what oil actually smells like. There’s your spy novel but it could never get published…
